Types of gate we install
Wooden side and garden gates
Framed, ledged and braced timber gates made to match your fence, with heavy-duty hinges and the brace set the right way so the gate does not drop.
Double driveway gates
Timber or metal pairs for driveways, with drop bolts, gate stops and posts sized to the span and weight of each leaf.
Metal and steel security gates
Galvanised and powder-coated steel gates for side passages, alleyways and commercial sites where security is the priority.
Gates with locks and access control
Lockable latches, keyed bolts and preparation for electric locks or automation where required.
Why gates sag and how we prevent it
A gate puts a constant leverage load on its hanging post. Undersized posts or shallow concrete let that post lean over time, and the gate drops onto the latch side. We use larger hanging posts, deeper foundations and, on wider spans, steel posts or a hidden steel frame.
Ground levels matter too. Many Liverpool alleyways and driveways slope, so we measure the fall and set the hinge side to clear the ground through the full swing.
Alleygate and rear-access considerations
Terraced streets across Liverpool, Bootle and Birkenhead often have rear entries. We can fit secure rear yard gates and doors that work with your existing walls. Shared alleygates on public land are usually managed by the local council, so we will tell you if that applies.
